This was a good day.
A day full of curious questions, their sweet laughter, new discoveries and wild imaginations. We embraced the end of our summer with eyes wide open. The sun kept us warm and our adventure kept us consumed with joy.
Though we did have the occasional whining and bickering and the infamous "it's not fair" I refused to let the hiccups make us miss a beat. Instead her free spirit and his beautifully intense contemplation mixed with her charisma left us splashing in the river until our skin pruned and had us eating raspberries until our tummies ached.
We came home wet, dirty, exhausted and smiling. Summer is done and though it does make me sad I am exited to watch them grow through the fall.
